- SnapNType
What
should I do when I type on the keyboard and nothing happens?
The
first thing is to check whether the SnapNType driver is properly
installed and enabled. Tap on the SnapNType icon to open up the
configuration screen. The driver should be enabled automatically
if the keyboard is connected to your Palm properly. If the driver
is disabled, try unplug and plug your keyboard again. Make sure
the driver is enabled automatically when plugged in.
If
you are still getting no response or incorrect response from the
SnapNType then it may indicate a conflict between the SnapNType
driver and some of your installed software driver and/or hardware.
The SnapNType driver is not compatible with any software or hacks
that will use the only serial port on the Palm. It is also not compatible
with overclocking software such as Afterburner. To ensuer there
is no software conflict, please disable all hacks and software that
will either overclock the Palm or uses the serial port, then try
the SnapNType again.
Some
software will bind themself to the Palm OS at the ROM level and
cannot be completely removed even by a soft reset. If you are still
having problem with the SnapNType after the above steps, we would
recommend you do a Hard reset and try again. Please make sure you
properly backup all data and software applications before you perform
the Hard reset.
Is
the SnapNType driver compatible with Macintosh?
Yes,
the SnapNType driver is fully compatible with Macintosh. Simply
download the driver from our web site and perform a HotSync to install
snapntype.prc to your Palm and you are ready to go! You only need
your Macintosh computer to HotSync the application, subsequent operation
of the SnapNType will not require the computer.
While
the SnapNType is connected, can I beam information to other PDAs?
No.
You have to disable the SnapNType driver before performing the beam
action. However, you will be able to receive beam information while
the SnapNType driver is enabled. To disable the SnapNType, simply
remove it from the Palm.
Why
can't I synchronize my data back to my PC?
The
SnapNType driver is fully compatible with your Hotsync application.
Please make sure your cradle connection is OK by disabling the SnapNType
driver and perform the HotSync action again.
Do
I need to disable the SnapNType driver before performing Hotsync?
The
SnapNType is fully compatible with HotSync. The dirver will also
disable itself once you remove the keyboard. So there is no need
to manually disable the SnapNType before perfomring HotSync.
Do
I have to disable the SnapNType driver every time I remove the device?
No,
the SnapNType driver will disable itself evey time you remove the
device.
Is
the SnapNType compatible with over-clocking software?
There
are 3 kinds of programs that can increase the running speed of PalmOS
devices. The first type will remove the wait states from RAM and
ROM. The second type will over-clock the CPU. And a third type will
do both. For any program that over-clock the CPU (like FastCPU or
Afterburn), operation of the SnapNType will be affected because
over-clocking will affect serial communication, and any device or
program that use the serial port will be affected. In general, we
recommend you turn off any over-clocking program before using the
SnapNType.
Why
can't I hear "beep" sound when connecting or disconnecting
the SnapNType?
Please
make sure your system sound option is turned on.
Can
I turn on my Palm by pressing a button on the SnapNType?
No,
the Palm will turn on when you plug in your SnapNType. However,
when the Palm is off and the SnapNType is plugged in, pressing a
button will not turn on the Paalm. You need to press the power button
to turn on your Palm.
